Description

A Community Request Card is a visual aid designed to help a person with limited or no speech to access services in the community. Ideally it should be able to fit in the person’s wallet or pocket. The information written on a Community Request Card is for the person they come into contact with in the community. The card gives details of your request, for example, ‘an order for a small latte with one sugar’. The card tells the person what to do, for example, ‘put the change back in my wallet The person using the Community Request Card does not necessarily need to be able to read or understand exactly what is printed on the card. Using the cards encourages people in the community (e.g. staff in shops, cafés) to speak directly to the person and involve them in the conversation rather than interacting with their support worker.

 These cards will be made with the following:

  • 5 x 7cm card size
  • Matte laminate
  • Picture Communication Symbols® (PCS®)
  • Hinged ring

This is a generic/non-customised communication aid. It is intended as a sample for clinical demonstration or education purposes. Timelines
Shop items may take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery. Variances may occur, and timelines will be confirmed in consultation with the customer.

Intellectual Property
Any intellectual property which is created pursuant to Your Support Package will be the property of Scope. Scope grants the customer or their representative a non-exclusive license to use the intellectual property where necessary, solely to use the communication aids. This Agreement does not affect the ownership of any intellectual property rights in the material, works, items or systems provided by either party for the provision of the Services or any intellectual property created independently from the provision of the Services (“Existing Intellectual Property”). To the extent that any Existing Intellectual Property is incorporated into any materials, you grant Scope a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty free licence to use, reproduce and adapt your Existing Intellectual Property to the extent necessary to provide your Products and Services.
